🏡 Register Your Home Address (Zameldowanie)?

In Poland, Zameldowanie means officially registering your place of residence. It’s required if you plan to stay longer than 30 days.

 Where to do it:

  • At your local Urząd Gminy (municipal office) or Urząd Miasta (city office).

  • Bring your passport/ID, rental agreement or property ownership papers, and residence permit/visa (if applicable).

  • Registration is free and takes a few minutes. You need to pay to get a paper confirmation.

🆔 PESEL Number in Poland: What It Is and How to Apply”

A PESEL (Powszechny Elektroniczny System Ewidencji Ludności) is a Polish national identification number given to every resident in Poland. It’s an 11-digit number used for government records, healthcare, banking, taxes, and more.

A Trusted Profile (Profil Zaufany, PZ) is a secure digital identity used in Poland for signing official documents online. It allows you to access government services electronically without visiting offices in person. It is linked to your PESEL number and can be used via the ePUAP platform.

Steps to Apply for a Trusted Profile

Option 1: Online via ePUAP

  1. Create an ePUAP account

  2. Start Trusted Profile application

    • Log in to your ePUAP account

    • Select “Załóż Profil Zaufany” (Set up Trusted Profile)

    • Follow the instructions and verify your identity

  3. Identity verification
    You can verify your identity in two ways:

    • Online via your bank: Some banks in Poland allow instant verification if you have a bank account with electronic banking.

    • In person at an authorized office: Visit a NFZ branch, city hall (Urząd Miasta/Gminy), or other designated government office with your ID (passport or national ID card).

  4. Confirmation

    • Once verified, you will receive an email confirmation that your Trusted Profile is active.

    • You can now use it to sign documents digitally and access e-government services.


Option 2: In-Person Application (without online ePUAP account)

  1. Go to an authorized office (e.g., city hall or NFZ)

  2. Fill out the Trusted Profile application form

  3. Show your ID

  4. The staff will create and activate your Trusted Profile, which can then be linked to your ePUAP account
