About Poland
Poland, also known as Polska in the local language, is a country located in Central Europe. It is bounded by the Baltic Sea to the north and two mountain ranges, the Sudetes and the Carpathians, to the south. Poland shares its borders with seven countries: Germany to the west, the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the south, Ukraine and Belarus to the east, and Lithuania and the Kaliningrad Oblast (which is part of Russian territory) to the north.
Poland has a population of approximately 38,523,000, making it the 8th most populous country in Europe. Its total area covers 312,685 square kilometers, making it the 9th largest country in Europe.
The official language of Poland is Polish and the currency is the złoty, which is divided into 100 groszy.
