Join us for an evening of vibrant festivities as we celebrate the auspicious occasions of Dasara and Bathukamma on 13th October, from 16:30 to 21:30. The event promises a delightful blend of tradition, culture, and joy, bringing together families and friends for an unforgettable experience. Below is the detailed itinerary of the event:
1. Durgamma Pooja (16:30 – 17:30)
We will begin the celebrations with the Maa Durga Pooja, offering prayers to Goddess Durga, invoking her blessings for prosperity, health, and happiness. The pooja will be conducted in a traditional manner, with sacred chants, devotional songs, and the lighting of the diya (lamps). This is a time for everyone to come together in devotion and seek the goddess’s divine protection.
2. Cultural Events (17:30 – 19:00)
After the pooja, immerse yourself in an array of cultural performances that showcase the rich heritage of our community performed by our fellow Telugu people. These performances will honor the spirit of the festival and offer a glimpse into the deep cultural roots of our traditions.
3. Bathukamma Celebration (19:00 – 21:30)
The highlight of the evening will be the Bathukamma festival, where participants gather to create and play around the beautifully arranged stacks of flowers, called Bathukamma. This colorful floral arrangement is a tribute to Goddess Gauri and symbolizes the celebration of life, womanhood, and nature. Women, dressed in traditional attire, will come together to sing and dance around the Bathukamma, chanting folk songs in unison.
* Flower Arranging and Playing Bathukamma: Participants are encouraged to bring their own Bathukamma or help in arranging flowers. The rhythmic clapping and circle dances will bring joy and energy to the gathering, creating an atmosphere of unity and celebration.
